Space has meaning because of what we breathe into it. My excitement for people, event and space permeates everything I do, whether it is trying to create a uniques experience, telling a story or solving a problem.
Trained in math, strategy and more recently architecture, Adelle Lin is equally at home running scenarios through an excel model or on a ladder with an impact drill – there is no problem she is not excited to put her head to. Before giving into her creative inner voice, Adelle suited up as a “Wall Street Type” at investment bank Credit Suisse. Thus her diverse background has given her the ability to see the world through different lenses. Since leaving the world of investments and business strategy, she has designed banking fitouts, renewable energy roofscapes, built interactive installations, worked on a mobile diabetes app and co-facilitated visioning workshops.
Her recent endeavors explore gamefulness as a medium for communication, both in terms of playing with space and interactive technology, with works being exhibited across the pacific. In New York, her games reached a wide audience at Different Games Conference, Come Out and Play Festival, Harvestworks Gallery, Maker Faire and Gratitude NYC. In Melbourne, Australia she created performative environments at the Bohemian Masquerade Ball, International Jazz Festival and Freeplay Festival.
Graduating with First Class Honors in her Bachelor of Design, she has also completed a Masters of Business and a degree in Actuarial Studies. During which she founded an interdisciplinary student platform, managed an indie theatre company, competed nationally as a martial arts black belt and played in an attempted garage band. These days, as an active member of independent games and maker communities, you will be just as likely to find her at an indie games conference as a dancefloor in the desert.
